This is not the quality I expect from an audiobook. Maybe this is related to this book, but listening to her other books I have the feeling that is just how she narrates. "Listen along and find out how Marc works to convert Earth into a spacefaring world" You can listen all you want, Marc is more interested in making the easy money by lifting a ship wreck. An additional pain are the short sentences. If the kidnappers had actually killed someone close to Mark, such behaviour could be reasonable, but that is not the case. This kind of violence is just unnecessary and unjustified. When his daughter is kidnapped, instead of finding a way using his new found alien technology or make a sophisticated plan, Marc and his partners casual kill all the kidnappers and dispose of the bodies by feeding them to the sharks. When Marc discovers the spaceship by accident and is introduced to the AI, there are minutes of Q&A dialogue with the AI, but Mark is not asking any relevant questions like "who are you" or "why are you here"? His 12 year old daughter is acting like a grown up and the adults behaviour can not be described as such. If you are looking for a similar plot (finding a spaceship) but far better writing and narration, check out The second Ship by Richard Phillips, read by MacLeod Andrews. "What would you do if you found a spaceship?" In general I like this kind of thought experiments, but this book is a total waste of time.
